After update from Windows 10 to Windows 11 (23H2) VMs became inaccessible with the error message: Video remoting was disconnected. Disabling/enabling enhanced mode in the VM configuration cannot help.

    Hi Oleg,

    Hope you're doing well.

    1. Ensure that the Hyper-V Integration Services on the virtual machine are up-to-date. Integration Services provide better communication between the host and guest OS. You might need to reinstall or update them.
    2. Open the Hyper-V Manager, select the VM, and go to "Settings." Under the "Display" settings, try changing the "Screen resolution" or unchecking/checking "Enable enhanced session mode." Click "Apply" and see if it resolves the issue.
    3. If you are connecting to the VM using Remote Desktop, check the Remote Desktop settings in the VM. Ensure that Remote Desktop is enabled, and the appropriate user accounts have permission to connect.
    4. In the VM, you can try reinstalling the Hyper-V Integration Services. Go to "Device Manager" in the VM, locate the "Hyper-V Virtual Machine Bus" and related devices, uninstall them, and then restart the VM to allow them to reinstall.
    5. Make sure that the guest OS inside the VM is fully updated. Check for and install any available Windows updates. This includes both security updates and optional updates that might address compatibility issues.
    6. Confirm that your host machine running Windows 11 (23H2) is compatible with Hyper-V and meets the necessary requirements for virtualization. Ensure that virtualization is enabled in the BIOS/UEFI settings.

    I hope this helps!

    Best Regards,

    Ian Xue
